Nollywood actress and advocate Kate Henshaw has publicly called out Nigeria’s Minister of Power over the lingering failure to provide stable electricity across the country despite massive financial allocations to the sector.

In a video statement shared on her social media handles, the veteran actress expressed deep frustration over the deteriorating state of power supply, questioning why millions of Nigerians continue to suffer prolonged blackouts in 2026 despite heavy government spending.

Addressing the Minister directly, Henshaw slammed the lack of accountability and tangible results in fixing the national grid, which has suffered repeated collapses over the years.

“Mr Minister of Power, there’s no light. There’s hardly electricity in 2026, yet millions, billions are being thrown into the power sector. What are you people doing?” she charged.

Henshaw highlighted the severe economic strain the blackout places on ordinary citizens and small business owners who are forced to rely on expensive alternative energy sources, such as generators and solar power, amidst rising fuel prices.

Her public outburst has sparked widespread reactions online, with thousands of Nigerians taking to the comment section to echo her grievances, share their personal experiences with power outages, and demand urgent reforms from the Ministry of Power and electricity distribution companies (DisCos).
