A young woman identified as Deborah Saviour (also known as Deborah Sylvia) has publicly admitted knowing that her former partner was involved in armed robbery, following her arrest alongside seven suspected members of a robbery syndicate.
During an interrogation video released online, the suspect denied actively participating in criminal operations or accompanying the gang during robberies.
Suspect explains link to stolen property and ex-boyfriend
When questioned by investigators regarding her involvement with the crime syndicate, Deborah stated that her connection stemmed from a mobile phone gifted to her by her former boyfriend.
“It was the guy I was dating that gave me one of his phones that they stole,” she explained during questioning, claiming she only realised the device was stolen at the time of her arrest.
Despite claiming no role in the gang’s operations, Deborah conceded that she was fully aware of her former partner’s criminal activities. When asked if she knew he was an armed robber, she acknowledged knowing his status but admitted she never reported him to law enforcement authorities.
She added that after they had separated, he reconnected with her and invited her and her young son for a visit, during which he handed over the stolen mobile phone.
Pattern of relationships and ongoing security investigations
During the interrogation, Deborah made further revelations regarding her past relationships, revealing that her previous boyfriend had also been convicted and imprisoned for robbery.
She maintained that she had no technical involvement in altering or concealing stolen items, specifically denying ever accompanying her ex-partner to modify the phone’s unique IMEI tracking numbers.
While video footage of the confession has circulated widely on digital media platforms, official confirmation regarding the specific security agency conducting the investigation and formal charges filed against all eight suspects remains forthcoming.
