The Ogun State Government has commissioned an ultra-modern manufacturing facility belonging to Summit Household Solutions Limited in Ota, reinforcing the state’s status as a major industrial hub and boosting efforts to improve hygiene standards nationwide.

The factory, which began operations in April 2025, produces a range of home and personal care items, including dishwashing liquids, handwash, sanitisers and multipurpose liquid soaps. It has an estimated annual production capacity of 7,000 tonnes.

Summit Household Solutions Limited, makers of the 2Sure brand, is a Nigerian fast-moving consumer goods company with a growing portfolio that also includes Lewar, a premium beauty soap line aimed at delivering affordable and quality personal care products.

The commissioning was carried out on behalf of Governor Dapo Abiodun by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Investment, Mr Kehinde Akintomide.

Speaking at the event, Akintomide described the investment as a strong endorsement of Ogun State’s industrial climate, noting that the state hosts over 6,000 manufacturing companies across its clusters.

He added that the facility has already generated employment for more than 50 Nigerians, with projections indicating that the workforce could rise to over 250 as operations expand.

He said the project aligns with the state government’s economic development plan as well as the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope agenda, focused on boosting local production and reducing reliance on imports.

“This investment further validates Ogun State’s position as the industrial capital of Nigeria. We will continue to strengthen policies that support ease of doing business, attract investments and drive sustainable economic growth,” he said.

In his remarks, the General Manager of the company, Mr Sadiq Ali, described the factory as central to Summit’s growth and innovation strategy.

He said the company’s flagship brand, 2Sure, currently drives production at the facility, underscoring its focus on providing affordable and reliable hygiene products to consumers.

Ali added that the company is set to introduce a new range of home and personal care products before the end of the year.

Dignitaries at the event included the Onikotun of Otun, Ota, Oba Abdulakeem Odunaro, who represented the Olota of Ota, Prof. Adeyemi Abdulkabir Obalanlege; the Agba Akin of Ota, Chief Dada Olusola; the Director of Investment, Ms Yemisi Folarin; the Director of Industrial Promotion, Mr Femi Adeboye; former Managing Director of 7Up Bottling Company, Mr Ziad Maalouf; and the Chief Executive Officer of OmniRetail, Mr Deepanker Rustagi, among others.

On the occasion, Maalouf, who conceived the 2Sure brand during his tenure at 7Up Bottling Company, expressed satisfaction with its growth, noting that its acquisition by Summit Solutions Limited reflects a clear commitment to scaling the brand to greater heights.

Guests were later taken on a guided tour of the facility and treated to a reception.
