The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has reportedly banned market associations as a way of stopping profiteering leading to surging of food prices.
A trending video shows a group of chiefs making the announcement in a market in Ile-Ife.
The chief who claimed to be coming from a meeting with the Ooni and all his chiefs said it was decided that market associations should be banned.
He also said that anyone should not be seen forcing others to belong to any association neither should anyone try to force others to sell their ware at a price.
The chief warned that anyone caught trying to victimize any market woman or man selling at lower prices will be banished from Ile-Ife.
