A businessman identified as Lawrence Olorungbon, his wife, and three children have been found dead in their apartment in Apapa area of Lagos.
The exact cause of death is not known at this stage, but the police said investigation had commenced into the matter.
The man’s secretary was said to have become agitated about his whereabouts when she did not see him in the office and he did not pick his calls.
She was said to have decided to visit his home to find out what was happening. She reportedly knocked at the door of the family for a long time without getting any response and the door of the apartment was firmly locked.
The lady perceived a foul smell and also saw flies buzzing around the windows of the apartment.
She consequently contacted the police to inform them of her findings.
Policemen at the Apapa division subsequently visited the scene and forced the entrance door open, to behold the bodies in their decomposing state.
Lagos police command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said an autopsy would be conducted to ascertain the cause of death of the deceased family members.
