Tinubu makes first appointments, names Dele Alake Presidential Spokesman

Dele Alake

President Bola Tinubu has reportedly made his first set of appointments after being sworn in as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

According to reports principally circulated by APC chieftain, Femi Fani-Kayode, Tinubu appointed Dele Alake as Presidential Spokesman.

The report also indicated that Tinubu named Olusegun Dada as Special Assistant on Digital Media and Amb Kunle Adeleke as Chief Protocol Officer.

Femi Fani-Kayode, former minister of aviation, made the announcement on his Twitter handle only a few hours after the inauguration of the new government.

The report has however been debunked by Alake.

Speaking on the issue with TheCable, the former director of strategic communication of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign, said the news of his appointment was fake.

“It was fake news. I’m always surprised when news people failed to recognise fake unsigned stories,” Alake said.
