Man robbed by one-chance robbers twice in one year at Egbeda

For a second time in a year, a family friend was robbed in Egbeda about 4:30 am today while on a short commute from his house to the bus stop where he catches the office bus.

He boarded a yellow bus and was beaten within an inch of his life by the bad boys. He met some women in the bus when he boarded, but it appeared those ones too were victims coerced to stay in the bus to lure more hapless passengers. They didn’t utter a word and looked terrified according to our friend.

The robbers collected the cash on him and demanded for his ATM cards.  He told them he had none. Since his terrible experience in the hands of ‘one chance’ robbers on the same route last year when his ATM cards were collected and the money in his accounts were transferred, he formed the habit of leaving his ATM cards at the office and deleting all bank transactions on his phone as soon as they arrive.

They collected his phone and checked for transactions. They didn’t see any. They subsequently gave him back his phone and threw him out. He is currently in a hospital for treatment.

It’s getting critical for our dear country. Fulani herders kidnap those travelling. One chance robbers wait for those going to their offices. Do we still have a government?

  1. He leaves home very early everyday to catch the office bus. I guess that predisposes him to this sort of crime which is committed mostly at that time of morning or late at night.
