You should have tried to help the girl – Iyanya tells motorist who filmed a girl being abducted in VI, Lagos
Singer Iyanya has reacted to a video of a motorist filming the moment a lady struggled to get out of a car but was restrained by an occupant of the car and the driver.
Recall that a motorist came by and filmed a black Pathfinder wherein a lady was struggling to open the back door while someone inside the vehicle was restraining her from going out.
The clip shows the driver stopping the vehicle at some point and stepping out to assist the person restraining the lady and apparently activated the child lock on the door so that it could not be opened by the lady from inside.
It remains unclear what was actually happening, beyond the fact that there was visibly a struggle between a lady and other occupants of the car.
The motorist who filmed the incident said he was convinced it was an abduction and the lady tried to escape unsuccessfully.
He claimed he followed them around Victoria Island for a while, and tried to get the attention of area boys and other motorists to no avail. He also claimed there was no police on the road, ostensibly because it was New Year’s day.
Nigerian singer, Iyanya has now weighed in on the issue. In his opinion, the man who filmed the scene should have done more to assist the lady in the car.
He noted that the driver of the car stepped out to activate the child lock feature on the back door to make it impossible for the lady to open the door from inside.
