‘Withdraw Tax bill now!’ NLC tells FG

The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has called on the Federal Government to withdraw the contentious tax bills now before the National Assembly.
In his New Year message to Nigerians, NLC President Joe Ajaero emphasized that the withdrawal of the bills is essential to safeguard the welfare of Nigerian workers.
Ajaero also urged the government to prioritize transparency, inclusivity, and honesty in its engagement with the public, ensuring that its actions reflect the best interests of the masses.
The message titled “In 2025, Hope is in Our Collective Resolve” read: “As we step into the year 2025, the Nigeria Labour Congress extends warm New Year greetings to every worker & citizen across our great nation.
The challenges we have faced in striving for survival must not defeat us. Instead, we must summon the inner strength to build a collective resolve that will steer Nigeria away from the grip of underdevelopment & toward progress & prosperity.”

NLC is loosing it, seeking relevance albeit by jumping on everything and anything even outside their competence, The Tax Bill which is considered a well positioned reform for a more equitable taxes is what has suddenly become an issue with NLC leadership. Fuel prices which gradually going down seems to become a deadbeat in their sporadic fights Now it’s Tax Bill…. Please NLC should start thinking for the benefit of Nigerians not political shenanigans
