The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, has dragged Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja, demanding N15 billion in general and aggravated damages over malicious and defamatory allegations of corruption.

The sweeping lawsuit, filed by Gbajabiamila’s legal team led by Kemi Pinheiro (SAN), Folu Oguntade (SAN), and Olukayode Enitan (SAN), comes after Adeyemi publicly accused the Chief of Staff of demanding a staggering 48 per cent kickback from an approved N27.3 billion take-off grant for a federal agency.

The breakdown of the N15 billion suit

According to the statement of claim, the Chief of Staff is seeking the following legal reliefs from the court to repair the “significant damage” done to his hard-earned reputation:

N10 billion in general damages.

N5 billion in aggravated damages.

N200 million, representing the total cost of the legal action.

Plots, fires, and assassination claims

The legal battle stems from a series of highly dramatic allegations made by Adeyemi during a press conference and media appearances. Adeyemi claimed that a proxy acting on behalf of Gbajabiamila had already collected N400 million, with an additional N200 million demanded to secure presidential approvals.

Adding a dark twist to the saga, Adeyemi also linked the Chief of Staff to the death of one Babatunde Tanimola—whom he alleged acted as the middleman between them. Adeyemi claimed Tanimola died in a mysterious hotel fire in Utako, Abuja, on October 22, 2025, just one day after Gbajabiamila petitioned the police.

Furthermore, Adeyemi alleged he survived an assassination attempt along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway in September 2025 and claimed a “directive from above” ordered the DSS and Police to halt recovery efforts for his stolen phones, which supposedly contained vital evidence.

Admissions on VeryDarkMan’s platform

Gbajabiamila completely denied ever meeting, speaking to, or utilising Adeyemi or the late Tanimola as a proxy.

“The claimant has never met the defendant, never held any meeting with him, and has never authorised any intermediary… to demand or receive money on his behalf,” the court filing stated.

Gbajabiamila’s witness statement highlighted that despite receiving a cease-and-desist letter on July 6, 2026, Adeyemi doubled down but made damaging admissions during an interview with popular social media influencer VeryDarkMan.

During that internet interview, Adeyemi reportedly confessed that he had never met the Chief of Staff in person, never held a video call with him, and had zero independent means of verifying the identity of the person he believed was Gbajabiamila, admitting all interactions went through the deceased Tanimola.

Standing trial for forgery

Despite these massive contradictions, Adeyemi went on Politics Today on Channels Television on July 13, 2026, to repeat the claims.

Court documents have now exposed that Adeyemi is currently standing trial before the Federal High Court in Abuja (Charge No. FHC/ABJ/CR/652/2026) for allegedly executing a scheme involving forged presidential documents and fake appointment letters.

The prosecution asserts that these forged documents form the entire basis of his false public claims against the Chief of Staff.

The FCT High Court has ordered Adeyemi to enter an appearance within 14 days, warning that a default judgment will be passed if he fails to show up. Meanwhile, the defendant was recently arrested in Osun State by a special task force from the office of the Inspector General of Police.
