The Ogun State Police Command has recovered the missing vehicle belonging to former Ogun State Television (OGTV) broadcaster, Kiitan Oyesiku, who was found dead alongside her security guard at her residence in Iyana Agodo Village.

The command disclosed in a statement on Monday by its spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, that the vehicle—a Lexus RX300—was recovered by police operatives during a strategic night operation as investigations into the double homicide intensify.

Following the breakthrough, the state Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, visited the crime scene for an on-the-spot assessment to personally evaluate the progress made by the homicide detectives handling the case.

“Further to the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of retired broadcaster Ms Kiitan Oyesiku and her security guard, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, Bode Ojajuni, today visited the scene of the incident,” the statement read in part. “It is worthy of note that the vehicle earlier reported missing from the residence, a Lexus RX300, has been recovered by police operatives during the night hours. The vehicle has since been secured as part of the ongoing investigation.”

The police boss commiserated with the families of the deceased and assured residents that the command is deploying all available intelligence and surveillance resources to apprehend the perpetrators.

The investigation was initially launched after a local resident raised an alarm over highly suspicious activities at the broadcaster’s residence.

Detectives from the Owode Egba Division deployed to the scene discovered clear signs of forced entry and a violent struggle within the premises.

The body of the security guard was found inside the security post, while Oyesiku’s body was subsequently discovered inside her apartment. The assailants had fled the scene in the broadcaster’s vehicle, which has now been recovered.

The late Oyesiku was a highly respected media personality and a veteran staff member of the state-owned television station.

Her tragic death has sparked widespread grief across the media community and Ogun State, with colleagues and residents demanding swift justice.
