“Did you impregnate her in prison?” Actor Oyemykke queries Baba Ijesa on arrival of new baby

Portable also questions the timeline

Oyemykke, Baba Ijesa and his wifePopular Nigerian social commentator, Oyemykke, has publicly questioned Nollywood actor James Olanrewaju Omiyinka, widely known as Baba Ijesha, regarding the recent birth of his newborn child.

Similarly, controversial singer, Portable, has also taken to social media to raise questions over the new arrival in Baba Ijesa’s home.

The inquiry follows reports that Baba Ijesha and his wife, celebrity fashion designer Abiodun Folashade Tokunbo (CEO of Luminee), welcomed a baby in May 2026.

The timeline dilemma raised by Oyemykke

In a video shared across various social media platforms, Oyemykke raised legal and logistical questions regarding the timeline of the pregnancy.

The commentator highlighted the following timeline details:

Conviction and Sentence: Baba Ijesha was convicted in July 2022 on charges of sexually assaulting a minor.

Prison Release: The actor completed his prison term and was released in November 2025.

Child’s Birth: The couple welcomed their newborn in May 2026, roughly seven months after his release.

No conjugal visits in Nigerian prisons

Oyemykke’s primary argument centres on the strict regulations governing the Nigerian Correctional Service.

He pointed out that Nigerian prisons do not legally permit conjugal visits—a policy that would typically allow inmates private, unsupervised time with their spouses.

“Nigeria does not allow conjugal visits. How were you able to get your wife pregnant two months before release?” Oyemykke asked in the viral clip.

Given these strict correctional rules, the media personality questioned how conception could have occurred while the actor was still serving the final months of his prison sentence.

In the same vein, Portable put out a video where he appeared to be mocking the comic actor, suggesting that he needed to probe if he was the true father of the baby.

Speaking in Yoruba, Portable said: My fans, how did it happen? A man who was released barely six months ago. Did he get home before impregnating his wife, or did he do it before he went?”

As of the time of filing this report, neither Baba Ijesha nor his wife, Abiodun Folashade Tokunbo, has issued a public response to the commentary or clarified the timeline surrounding the birth.
