Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire has publicly accused her estranged husband, Frederick Leonard, of deliberately delaying their divorce proceedings despite allegedly initiating the separation.
The actress made the allegations in a series of posts shared on her Instagram Story, where she expressed frustration over what she described as Leonard’s failure to appear in court after filing for divorce.
According to Ovire, the actor requested the dissolution of their marriage but has repeatedly avoided legal proceedings intended to finalise the separation.
In her post, she urged Leonard to honour the next court date and allow the process to be concluded.
“You said you wanted a divorce, yet you didn’t show up when you were served. Please don’t avoid the customary court for the second time on June 23 because I’m coming with receipts, and let’s get this divorce done and dusted,” she wrote.
The actress further levelled accusations against her estranged husband, alleging that he is involved in a romantic relationship with a married woman.
Ovire claimed that the woman in question is married and has four children, though she did not reveal the person’s identity or provide evidence to support the allegation.
The development has generated reactions across social media, with fans and followers weighing in on the latest chapter of the couple’s troubled relationship.
Neither Leonard nor his representatives had publicly responded to the allegations as of the time of filing this report.
The pair, once regarded as one of Nollywood’s admired celebrity couples, tied the knot in a widely celebrated traditional and white wedding ceremony, attracting significant attention from colleagues and fans within the entertainment industry.
The latest public exchange has further fueled speculation about the state of their marriage as legal proceedings toward a formal separation continue.
