A member of the United States Secret Service has been arrested in Miami following allegations of inappropriate public behaviour.
The officer, identified as John Spillman, was taken into custody and charged with indecent exposure after an incident reported at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Miami Airport & Convention Centre.
According to authorities, Spillman allegedly engaged in an indecent act in a hotel hallway after reportedly following guests from the lobby area. Hotel security personnel intervened and contacted law enforcement.
The agent was in Florida as part of a security team connected to a visit by US President Donald Trump, who was attending an event at Trump National Doral Golf Club for the 2026 PGA Cadillac Championship.
Officials stated that Spillman was off duty at the time of the alleged incident. He appeared in court on Monday and remains in custody as legal proceedings continue.
In a statement, Secret Service Chief Richard Macauley criticised the reported behaviour, describing it as inconsistent with the standards expected of agency personnel.
The Secret Service has placed the officer on administrative leave while investigations are ongoing.
