A 20-year-old student of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, identified as Audi Emmanuel, has been found dead in his off-campus residence in Emure-Ile, within Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The deceased, who was studying computer engineering, was discovered in his room under circumstances that authorities say are still under investigation.

Police confirm incident

The spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the development, stating that officers responded promptly after receiving the report.

According to him, the body was recovered from the scene and taken to a morgue for preservation and autopsy.

Preliminary observations suggest a possible case of suicide, although the police emphasised that a full investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the death.

Call for support awareness

While expressing condolences to the family, the police urged members of the public to seek help and speak up during periods of emotional distress.

They stressed that support systems are available and encouraged individuals facing mental health challenges not to suffer in silence.
