Police

A 27-year-old Nigerian resident in the United Kingdom, Oluwadamilola Ogunyankinnu, has been charged with the murder of 21-year-old Finbar Sullivan, who died after sustaining stab wounds during a confrontation in Primrose Hill.

According to statements released by the Metropolitan Police, the incident occurred on April 7, 2026, after reports of a fight in the area prompted emergency calls from members of the public.

Police officers and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service responded to the scene at about 6:41 pm, where they found Sullivan with stab injuries.

Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has since been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers.

Authorities also confirmed that another man, believed to be in his 20s, was discovered nearby on Regent’s Park Road with stab wounds. He was taken to the hospital, where his injuries were assessed as non-life-threatening.

In a follow-up update, police disclosed that Oluwadamilola Ogunyankinnu was arrested on April 10 and formally charged with murder on April 12. He is scheduled to appear before a Magistrates’ Court in Stratford.

A second individual, aged 25, who was earlier arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released without further action.

The case adds to a growing list of serious criminal cases involving Nigerian nationals in the UK. In a similar development previously reported, another Nigerian, Chukwuemeka Ahanonu, was sentenced to life imprisonment for the killing of a 56-year-old woman in Leicester after a violent attack following a car crash.

Investigations into the Primrose Hill incident are ongoing, with police appealing to the public for further information.
