American singer and reality TV star K. Michelle has spoken emotionally about a serious health crisis she says is linked to past cosmetic procedures, including illegal silicone injections she received years ago.
The singer, known for her appearance on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, revealed that she recently required hospitalisation following complications from previous reconstructive surgeries aimed at correcting earlier body enhancement procedures.
According to her account, the complications stem from silicone that was injected into her body in 2012 during an unlicensed procedure.
The celebrity had said at the time that she wanted to look like a Coke bottle.
However, her health went south after the body augmentation procedures.
She said the substance injected into her body has continued to cause long-term medical issues despite multiple corrective surgeries over the years.
- Michelle disclosed that she experienced a frightening episode shortly before a performance at the 2024 Academy of Country Music Awards, describing how she had to be urgently prepared for the stage while already in distress.
She said, “I was standing there in a bathrobe. Everyone was blow-drying me down, just to get me on stage to sing.”
Overcome with emotion, the singer expressed regret over undergoing the procedure, describing it as one of the worst decisions of her life.
“I just hate that I did this to myself. It’s the worst thing I ever did to myself, and I’ve paid for it for years,” she said.
She further explained that the medical complications are linked specifically to silicone that spread through her body over time, adding that despite multiple surgeries, it cannot be completely removed.
“The hardest thing for me was learning that no matter what I do and how many surgeries, I will never get that silicone out of my body,” she added.
The singer noted that she has undergone several corrective procedures over the past decade, including fat transfer surgeries and other reconstructive efforts, in an attempt to address the damage caused by the initial injections.
She also revealed that her condition had previously become so severe that she required blood transfusions during treatment.
Michelle said her experience has left her permanently affected, both physically and emotionally, and serves as a cautionary account about the risks of unregulated cosmetic procedures.
