Tension gripped a community in Edo State after an irate mob reportedly vandalised a church belonging to an evangelist identified as Assurance Inomwan over allegations of sexual misconduct.
According to videos and posts circulating on social media, the unrest followed claims that the cleric had inappropriate relationships with female members of his congregation.
In one of the viral clips, a voice alleged that the pastor impregnated a young woman and later pressured her to terminate the pregnancy, a development that reportedly sparked outrage among residents.
“Daddy wey dey pamper all of dem y*nsh. He f*cked my cousin and comot the belle. See am!” the female voice said repeatedly in the video.
The mob was seen destroying parts of the church building while expressing anger over the alleged actions of the cleric.
Eyewitness accounts in the footage also included unverified claims accusing the pastor of engaging in repeated immoral conduct with multiple women.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from the police or relevant authorities regarding the incident, while details surrounding the allegations remain unconfirmed.
