Celine & Afiba: ‘How do we stop this hook-up craze?’ Actor Kanayo O. Kanayo asks (Video)

Legendary Actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo has lamented over the desecration traditional values by many young people who are eager to do anything for money.
In a video on his social media channels, Kanayo said he had been troubled since the story of Celine Ndidum and her Ghanaian friend, Afiba Tandoh broke.

Recall that Celine and Afiba left Port Harcourt to visit a British-Nigerian man, Matthew Amechi Ochekwo in April and have never been seen since then.
Andrew who lived in the United Kingdom before fleeing to Nigeria after allegedly committing a sexual crime chatted up Celine and expressed interest in hosting the two ladies in his mansion.
In a video call that later went viral, he was seen boasting about his mansion in Aba and how he would give the ladies a nice time if they came over to stay two days with him.
In a chat that has also gone viral, he pointedly asked Celine how much she would take for her and her friend to come over. She told him she would collect N1 million for the two of them.
The ladies visited the gentleman and have not been seen ever since.
Reflecting on the issue in a video, Kanayo said the Gen Zs have sacrificed all values on the altar of money.
He wrote: “What do men really promise women on Facebook and other social media platforms to leave their locations for a hookup? From the way this generation has treated the private part, UKWU HAS LOST DIGNITY”
According to him, many young ladies would do anything as long as money was involved and would not consider their own personal safety.
He recalled the case of a young lady, Cynthia Osokogu, who was lured from Abuja to FESTAC Town, Lagos and was drugged, raped and killed by a man she met on social media.
Kanayo called for a return to a time when there was dignity in labour. He advised young women to seek legitimate employment instead of resorting to risky ways to make money using their bodies.
He said he understood that it could be quite tempting to be offered huge sum of money by a man in these hard times, but he emphasized that the ladies should put their safety first.
He stressed that nothing is worth more than a person’s life, urging young women to be cautious and not travel to meet unknown men.
He advised parents to monitor their children, especially daughters.
He advised them to educate their children about the risks of engaging in “hookup” culture and blindly following promises from strangers.
He also mentioned the need for community support in guiding young people towards safer and more responsible choices.
