A man is trending online after he was filmed being beaten by a bus conductor and his driver in Lagos for allegedly pretending not to be able to hear or speak.
According to a Tiktoker, Jercie101, who posted the video, the man spoke clearly to the bus conductor to confirm he would pay when the journey commenced, but at his destination, he pretended not to hear or speak.
The bus conductor attempted to seize his load, but he struggled with them to collect it back.
Other passengers on the bus can be heard confirming that they heard him speak earlier in the journey.
In the comment section, someone alleged that the man went about using the same tactic to avoid paying for services.
The commenter, Elijah Vera wrote:
“This same guy came to my restolouge and ordered for drinks and food writing them down (like we communicated through writing on book ) after giving him a bottle of Heineken and noticing some kind of move from him i told my staff not to attend to him any more immediately I asked for payment baba no get anything for pocket the bitting we gave him that day ehnn ,
at the end I asked him if I should lock him in the restroom till the next day or he should go home naked he chose naked
intact I think I should do a storytime on this”
