Nigerian Navy Ship Beecroft intercepts Vessels bound for Europe, arrest 19 suspected stowaways (Video)

The Nigerian Navy Ship Beecroft has intercepted and arrested 19 suspected stowaways aboard two vessels heading to Europe, namely the MT KRITI RUBY and MT MCC YANBU.

The Base Information Officer, Lieutenant Hussaini Ibrahim, in a statement said that the stowaways boarded the ships at night, hiding in the rudder compartment in an attempt to illegally migrate to Europe.

On Friday, December 20, 2024, the first 15 suspected stowaways were transferred to the Nigeria Immigration Service at the Lagos State Port/Marine Command in Apapa for further investigation and appropriate action.

The remaining four stowaways will be handed over shortly.
