Two armed robbers burnt alive in Kano

Two suspected armed robbers have been burnt alive by an irate mob at Rimi village in Sumaila Local Government Area of Kano State.

Reports indicate that the three armed robbers stormed Rimi town for an operation, but were resisted by the youths of the community.

Taken aback by the stout resistance, the men were said to have fled and given hot chase by the youths.

The youths caught up with two of the armed men, while one escaped. The two caught were subjected to severe beating before being set ablaze.

Kano State police command spokesperson, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the incident. He said the suspects had been set ablaze by the time the police got to the scene. They only evacuated their remains the hospital.

Kiyawa said: “We have recovered knives and other weapons believed to belong to the deceased suspects.

“As of now, the state’s Commissioner of Police, Samaila Shuaibu Dikko, has ordered a thorough investigation into the matter.”

He advised the people of the state to desist from taking law into their hands in order to avoid killing innocent persons.
