An eight-year-old girl has been hospitalised after she was severely assaulted by her aunt in Ijaye, Lagos.
The pictures and videos of the minor shared on social media showed her swollen eyes and hands following the alleged assault.
Activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, who shared the pictures and video said the minor is currently receiving treatment in a hospital in Lagos.
He wrote: “8-year-old child has suffered severe assault by a supposed aunt who picked her up to train her. She resides at Ijaiye, Lagos State and the child has been rescued and currently receiving treatment at D Champions Hospital Lagos.
OTHER PEOPLE’S CHILDREN IN YOUR CARE ARE YOUR CHILDREN. TREAT THEM AS YOURS. If you can’t take care of them as yours, take them back.”
