Suspected one-chance robbers arrested in Lagos

A man identified as Okoro (45), and one Patience (42), have been arrested by the police in Lagos over their alleged involvement in ‘one-chance’ robbery in the state.

They were reportedly nabbed about 6:00 am on Saturday, February 17. It was gathered that they posed as commercial bus drivers while abducting unsuspecting passengers to different locations to defraud them of their properties.

They were arrested based on reliable information that they had gotten from the public. One of the victims was able to identify one of them, stating that they had taken N37,000 from her two weeks ago.

A source told Punch:

“Some suspected thieves are always parking around the Olusosun Ojota area in the pretence of taking passengers to their destination but instead take them to an unknown destination and steal from them.

“The incident happened around 6 am, and one Patient, aged 42, and one Okoro, aged 45, were arrested based on the credible information received from the public. One of the victims was able to recognise them, and she said they stole about 37,000 from them.”

Lagos police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed their arrest saying “The incident has been reported. The suspect will be arraigned at the conclusion of the investigation.”
