Israel-Hamas war: NCPC dumps Israel for Turkey as 2024 Christian pilgrimage destination

The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission

The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, (NCPC) unveiled Turkey as one of its latest pilgrimage destinations in the coming year 2024.

The Executive Secretary of the Commission made the disclosure at the Third Annual General Staff Retreat of the Commission with Partners from Turkey, held in Jos.

According to Prime Business Africa, the NCPC had in October announced the suspension of all pilgrimages, to Israel & Jordan as a result of the ongoing war between Israelis & Hamas. Prior to that announcement, the NCPC was scheduled to fly intending pilgrims to Amman, Jordan, to stay there for 4 days before travelling to Israel but the trip was cancelled due to the conflict that arose.

“A team from the Commission visited Turkey this year and last year to exploit a Christian holy site in the Middle-East country. Expectedly, they Concluded to include Turkey as one of the latest additions to our pilgrimage destinations,” Rev. Pam said.
