The housemaid of the late Dr. Adefolalu Funmilola Sherifat, a lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry, Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna, Niger State, who was slaughtered in her residence in the Gbaiko community of Bosso Local Council of Niger State on Sunday, October 29, has been arrested.

Microsecondnews reliably gathered that the housemaid was arrested together with a man suspected to be a member of the dreaded Boko Haram sect.

According to family sources, the housemaid is currently being regarded as the prime suspect following the facts unravelled so far by the police team investigating the murder.

According to one of the sources, the housemaid stole the sum of N30,000 from her employer, Dr. Adefolalu and absconded.

The late lecturer was said to have found out and threatened her with arrest by the police if she did not return the money.

The following night, the maid stormed the lecturer’s home with two men and killed her. One of the two men has been picked up by the police, according to the source.

It was gathered that N10,000 out of the money stolen was traced to the mother of the maid.

Investigations are still ongoing.

It would be recalled that the Associate Professor of Biochemistry’s church members who did not see her in the church went to her residence about 10 a.m. to check up on her only to find her door shut while she did not respond to calls.

Some of her neighbours revealed that after forcing open the door to her house, the Church members found her in a pool of blood with her throat slit and two knives beside her.
