There was initially some resistance from the fans of Promise (Ilerioluwa) Oladimeji Aloba better known as Mohbad in Ikorodu on Wednesday morning when preliminary arrangments were being made to dig the ground to bury the late singer.

Speaking in Yoruba, the boys could be heard saying that they would not allow anyone to dig the ground to bury Mohbad in that locality because he was a star and deserved better.

“You cannot bury Imole here. No, you cannot bury him here” the boys shouted repeatedly, with one threatening to slap anyone who attempted to dig the ground.

“Mohbad was a glorious boy!” one of the boys was heard saying in the background.

The boys who were Mohbad’s fans were later placated as the grave was later dug for his eventual burial according to Islamic rites.

Scores of his fans turned themselves into pallbearers and carried the coffin of the artiste on their bare heads to its final resting place.

The entire location was teaming with youths who turned up to pay their last respect to their music idol.
