Nigerian man shows off electric bus in Victoria Island, Lagos (Video)

A man has got people talking with a video of his electric bus converted from a traditional fuel engine.

He took the bus to a charging point at Adeola Odeku, Victoria Island, Lagos and took some time off to video the entire process to share online.

The video showcases the converted minibus parked in front of what appears to be a petrol filling station. However, instead of fuel, the vehicle is charging electrically.

The man can be heard urging people to consider converting their petrol engines to electric in a bid to reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change.

As the footage progresses, the charging process becomes evident. A charger is connected to the minibus, and it is inserted into a charging port situated conveniently on the side of the vehicle.

A board in front of the station displays the charging rate at as N150 per kilowatt.

The spectacle drew a small crowd of passersby who were intrigued by the innovative alternative to fuel engine vehicles.

In a follow-up video, a man identified as @charleyman8 provides more insight into the charging capabilities of the converted minibus. According to him, the vehicle can take a substantial charge per session, allowing it to run for seven to eight hours at a stretch.
