‘I am not following you to where they are shooting and stabbing’ – Portable refuses to perform in Padova (Video)
Nigerian musician, Habeeb Okikiola, refused to perform at a show he was paid for in Padova, Italy, recently for safety concerns.
The musicians accused the show promoter of shoddy arrangements and incompetence.
In a video he posted on his Instagram page, Portable criticized the promoter for failing to pick him up promptly upon arrival at the airport.
According to him, it took two hours before he was picked and another two hours before they could lodge him in a hotel room.
He said the show promoter came to fetch him at 3:30 am to perform, and they got to the venue about 5 am. He wondered when he would perform.
To compound his woes, he said he could hear gunshots in the hall he was supposed to perform in.
Portable said in a video he shared on his Instagram, “I am not following you to where they are shooting guns and breaking bottles”.
Portable said he will not refund the money because he came as planned and meet the agreement. Portable made the incident known to the public so it won’t be a case of someone accusing him of not coming to a show he was paid for.
He had previously attracted negative reactions from another show venue in Italy after he allegedly stopped performing when his audience were not spraying money on him.
A video of that concert showed him cursing his fans for not spraying him money during his performance.
