A 42-year-old married man, identified as Talabi Oluwaseyi Samuel, fainted at the Ejigbo Magistrates Court premises in Lagos State as he was to be arraigned for failure to settle his bill after lodging for three days in a hotel with a slay queen.

Samuel was taken to court in a white bus and was asked to disembark when he started behaving strangely. He reportedly accused the hotel he owed of trying to ruin his marriage and spoil his reputation by arraigning him in court where the press would carry the news.

Shortly afterwards, he slumped and remained motionless on the ground. He was later carried into the courtroom where he continued to lie motionless on the tiled floor of the courtroom.

The genesis of his trouble started when he allegedly took one lady named Becky Alaneme, to Mayoral Hotel located at Aminu Ajibade Street, Unity Estate in Idimu, and lodged with her there for three days with a promise to settle his bills upon checkout.

He, however, reneged on this promise, to both the hotel and the lady he slept with for three days.

The hotel manager reportedly held him and contacted the police at the Idimu division. He was subsequently arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the conduct.

The police reportedly tried to get him to pay the debt of N70,000 he incurred at the hotel, but he reportedly said he had no money to settle the bills.

The police then resolved to arraign the man for conduct likely to cause the breach of public peace.

The arraignment was however frustrated when he slumped and remained on the ground despite the efforts of the police to get him to stand up.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. K.A. Ariyo, ordered his remand in police custody pending when he will be ready to be arraigned for the alleged offence.
