Governor Ben Ayade, Ubi Franklin lose in APC primary election

Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State and his Special Assistant, Ubi Franklin, both lost their senatorial and house of assembly bids respectively at the primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Ayade, also a presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had contested against Adams Cecelia and Martin Orim.

The Governor who will be completing his second tenure next year, polled 52 votes, losing to Cecelia who polled 140 votes.

Ubi Franklin on the other hand, lost to Cyril Omni, the Special Adviser on Security to the Governor of Cross River State, Ben Ayade. Omni secured 17 votes, while Mr Franklin garnered 12 votes.
