National hospital speaks on release of gospel singer Osinachi’s autopsy report

Osinachi Nwachukwu

The National Hospital in Abuja has said it would pass over the report of the autopsy conducted on the late gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu, over to the police.

The Chief Medical Director of National Hospital, Abuja, Dr Jeff Momoh, explained that the post-mortem examination to discover what killed Osinachi Nwachukwu was ongoing, but would only be released to the Nigeria Police Force which requested it.

Momoh said the hospital would not disclose the report to the public.

“The report is going to the people who made the request, it won’t be disclosed to the public at all,” Momoh told the Vanguard.

Osinachi died on April 8, and wide calls have been made for a probe into her death following accusations of domestic violence against the singer by her husband, Peter Nwachukwu.

The late singer’s family also called for an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death.

The accused husband has since protested his innocence.
