Leke Adeboye tenders public apology days after referring to some RCCG pastors as goats
Leke Adeboye, son of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A. Adeboye, has tendered a public apology to the leadership of the church days after he referred to some of the pastors as goats.
Leke was displeased that some pastors of the church still delivered their own sermon after his father must have given his during the church’s monthly thanksgiving service every first Sunday of the month. He expressed his displeasure at the pastors and then referred to them as goats.
He had written: “Why would you go and preach another sermon after Daddy GO had just finished speaking and preaching? You are not a son, you are a goat sir. Next Thanksgiving service, just do altar call, then Thanksgiving.”
The statement generated an uproar online as many people accused Leke of being arrogant.
A follower on Instagram and member of RCCG @rosedek2021 commented “Maybe you will push RCCG members to do the unthinkable, strike. Your name-calling of pastors and other antecedents show that you are naturally arrogant, since your father isn’t you are the goat. You do not deserve the office you hold. I’m looking forward to your resignation. You continue to embarrass your parents and RCCG, for how long will people do damage control on your behalf. I’m a member of RCCG and if others wouldn’t tell you some of us would, we’re fed up of you.”
The church authorities waded in and summoned him before a 3-man panel. He has now come out to publicly tender an apology for his comment.
