A video has emerged of the moment a traditional masquerade performing a stunt in public encountered an accident.
The masquerade and his restrainers were in a public space doing their usual stunts that prove the efficacy of their ‘juju’ (spiritual power) when things got out of hand.
Fire first erupted around the legs of the masquerade and was put out by the assistants. However, shouts erupted from the onlookers as they sighted that the inflammable costume of the masquerade had already caught part of the fire.
The fire erupted at once, engulfing the masquerade and forcing the assistants to jump away.
The video was abruptly ended by the cameraman in the ensuing commotion, making it unclear how the situation was salvaged.
