One of the latest additions to the BBNaija Shine Ya Eye competition, Michael, received warm applause for a freestyle he did during his introduction on Sunday.
Michael was one of the four new housemates introduced into the house on Sunday.
At a meeting summoned by the Head of House, Boma, after the live show for introductions, Michael, 28, said he auditioned for the show because he wanted to promote his brand as a singer.
He told his colleagues he was born in Nigeria, but moved to the US at age 12 and remained there until recently when he and his siblings returned to Nigeria after the demise of their father.
“My father passed away in 2019 and things changed. Then I decided to move to Nigeria with my brother to figure my life out.
“We moved to Abuja because my mum stays there, then I saw the BBNaija audition and decided to audition in order to grow my brand.
“As a singer, I want to use this platform to blow my career,” he said.
His colleagues asked him if he could show them some of his talent. He then launched into a brief rap free-style that got his colleagues clapping when he was done.
