A cousin of Usifo Ataga, the deceased boss of Super TV, Barrister Franklin Ufu, who saw the dead body, has given graphic details of how the body of Ataga was found after he was killed.
It would be recalled that the Super TV CEO was found dead in a shortlet apartment in Lagos in June after he lodged there with his lady lover, 21-year-old Chidinma Ojukwu.
The body of the late CEO had multiple stab wounds, which Ojukwu admitted to inflicting with a knife she later disposed of in a dust bin near her residence.
Ojukwu claimed they fell out over the late executive’s demand for sex against her wish and his resort to violence to have his way. She had claimed that they dated for over four months after she met him at a wild party.
She said she stabbed him and left him in the pool of his own blood, absconding with his ATM card which she used in withdrawing money from his account.
She was to later change her story in an interview with NTA. This time she claimed to have killed the late CEO to get access to his money.
Then on Monday, July 12, 2021, Crime Fighters unveiled a fresh interview they had with the same suspect who has completely recanted the confessions she made earlier.
In the latest interview, she claimed she did not kill the late CEO, but only met him dead after she went out briefly and returned to the rented apartment.
The same Crime Fighters spoke to the cousin of the late Ataga, Barrister Franklin Ufu who expressed disbelief that that Chidinma alone killed the deceased.
He said: ”I have had the very regrettable privilege of seeing that dead body five times. My cousin’s hands were tied so badly that the rope entered his skin. The rope is right there as an exhibit with the police.
That binding could not have been done by that lady alone, not possible, even if he was drugged. It is not possible because I saw the lady and I saw my cousin and I said this is not possible.
Apart from the fact that he was tied, there were multiple stabs on his body. So that story of two stabs and neck is not true. He was stabbed in other places, his leg. In fact in Yaba mortuary, the attendants were so dramatic that they told us clearly, the stabbing here (touching his stomach) was so bad it is a hole. The guy stuck his two fingers into my cousin’s body in my presence. He was stabbed here (touching the right side of his neck” deliberately twice and on his body multiple times.”
