Yomi Fabiyi’s film on Baba Ijesa’s case pulled down from YouTube

Claims he asked YouTube to pull it down for sake of peace

Yomi Fabiyi, Baba Ijesa

A film by Yomi Fabiyi trying to recreate the case of his friend, Baba Ijesa accused of child molestation has been pulled down from YouTube.

Fabiyi in a post on his Instagram page claimed he was the one that requested that YouTube should pull it down in the interest of peace, even though he insisted that the movie is a great one meant to instil the “right values”.

The actor was called out for the movie, Oko Iyabo, said to trivialize the sexual assault of Princess’ underage daughter by his colleague, Baba Ijesa.

The film according to those who saw it suggested that the actor and the girl had a consensual relationship. He also cast a character called Iyabo, who is portrayed as a prostitute.

Many people see that as a direct insult on Iyabo Ojo, his colleague, with whom he had a fight over the Baba Ijesa’s case.

After the movie was uploaded on YouTube, Nigerians slammed Yomi and others who took part in the project.

Tonto Dikeh also weighed in and asked people to report the video on YouTube.

The video was eventually taken down.

Fabiyi, however, insisted that the movie has a good story line and is meant to “inject right values, correct ills and educate.”
