More information has emerged about the arrest of popular Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, aka Baba Ijesha, for defiling a minor.
MSN reported that the popular actor was arrested by the Lagos Command of the Nigeria Police after a formal report was lodged by the mother of the defiled child.
Additional information gathered by MSN indicates that the mother of the minor installed a closed-circuit television system in her home following her suspicion that Omiyinka was taking advantage of the child anytime she was not home.
It was further learnt that the victim’s mother remotely monitored what was happening at home through her phone.
It was while she was doing this on the said day that she saw Omiyinka allegedly taking her daughter from the sitting room to the kitchen where CCTV cameras were not installed.
The mother reportedly headed home immediately, sneaked into the compound and allegedly caught Omiyinka defiling her daughter in the kitchen.
The sight reportedly broke the woman who was said to have tremendous trust in the actor.
The distraught mother of the victim was said to have immediately headed for the Sabo Police station to formally lodge a complaint.
The statement by the police yesterday said preliminary investigation revealed that Baba Ijesa had been sexually assaulting the 14-year-old victim since she was seven.
