Bandits place N50m ransom on kidnapped RCCG members

The bandits who abducted members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Kaduna on their way to Kafanchan from Kaduna have demanded for N50 million as ransom.

This was disclosed by a senior pastor of the Church. He confirmed that the eight members were kidnapped from the church bus at about 6:00 p.m while on a church assignment.

The RCCG cleric, who is a Special Assistant to the General Overseer also disclosed that the abducted persons were adult missionaries, male and female, from Kaduna Province 1 going to Kafanchan for missionary work.

MSN reported earlier today that bandits struck in Kaduna on Friday, kidnapping at least eight members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in transit along Kachia Road, about 63 kilometres from Kaduna.

A passenger in another bus travelling about the same time broke the news on his Facebook wall.

The Facebook user, Eje Faraday, uploaded the picture of the RCCG branded bus around 7pm with the following words:

“All the passengers in this bus were just kidnapped along Kachia Road, 63 km from Kaduna.”

In answer to questions posed on the page, he disclosed that he was almost a victim of the attack as the bus he was travelling in narrowly missed running into the bandits.
