Police may arraign Ogun deputy speaker for violent conduct

Ogun Police PPRO, Abimbola Oyeyemi

The Ogun State Police Command has said that it may arraign the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Oludare Kadiri, over allegation of violent conduct during the All Progressives registration and revalidation exercise in the state.

The police command, through its spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, on Sunday said the Deputy Speaker would be arraigned in court except the complainants opted for out-of-court settlement.

Accusations levelled against Kadiri include leading suspected hoodlums to invade the residence of the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, in Oru Ijebu, Ijebu North Local Government Area of the state.

He was also accused of leading thugs to invade the residence of a former legislator, Adebiyi Odugbesan.

The accused reportedly believed the SSG and Adegbesan were hoarding the registration materials for the ongoing APC registration.

The police had invited all warring factions from the local government and detained the deputy speaker for about two days after hearing from all parties concerned.
