A video clip has hit social media, showing the moments a couple having sex at a lake in Ghana called for help after they were stuck.
The clip showed the man yelling in pain and begging for forgiveness when he could not disengage from his partner after having sex at Lake Bosumtwi.
Their friends and their partners rushed to their rescue and struggled to get them to dry land.
The man begged profusely for forgiveness, crying that the pain was unbearable.
Lake Bosumtwi (also spelled Bosomtwe) is the only natural lake in Ghana. It is situated within an ancient impact crater that is about 10.5 kilometres in diameter. It is about 30 km south-east of Kumasi the capital of Ashanti and is a popular recreational area.
It was reported that the traditional authorities poured libation to appease the river gods so that the couple could be separated safely.
They were said to have been sent to the hospital where they went through series of treatments.
