The Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS) has arrested a serial phone thief who has been tormenting Lagosians for some time now.
The suspect, Olajide Balogun (36), an indigene of Akoko, in Ondo State, was picked up by the RRS decoy team as he was carting away his loot on a motorcycle, along shasha road, in Alimosho Lagos.
The police said the suspect took off on sighting the police, jumping off the motorcycle he was on in an attempt to evade arrest.
The police said he was pursued and apprehended.
Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to stealing phones and demonstrated his modus operandi for stealing phones from his victims.
The suspect also named some of the receivers of his loot at Computer Village, including one ‘Emeka’.
The police said the suspect would be charged to court in line with the directive of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police CP Hakeem Odumosu.
