Netizens mock Tinubu’s supporter who lost his toddler after he aspirated groundnut (Videos)

Was manhandled, arrested by police shortly before his son passed away

Some X (Twitter) users are callously trolling a supporter of President Bola Tinubu after he tragically lost his baby boy who aspirated groundnut in Ebonyi.

Asiwaju of Igboland who tweets with @AchiomehND shared the travails of his family seeking treatment for his son, Chukwuemeka who aspirated groundnut apparently while eating it.

He narrated how hospitals kept referring the kid until they finally settled at Ebonyi State Teaching Hospital.

He complained that they took far too long time for them to start treating the boy and even after they commenced treatment, they still could not do some basic things that could have saved his son’s life.

He complained that the teaching hospital did not have a tracheostomy tube to facilitate the breathing of his son and did not have a machine to suck out the groundnut stuck in the kid’s airway.

Achiomeh wrote:

“Since 12 p.m., I have been running around Abakaliki to get an X-ray for my son, who swallowed something that has been affecting his breathing, yet no hospital could attend to us. I’m currently at FETHA 1, and they are referring us to UNTH Enugu.”

In another tweet, he wrote:

“God, don’t let anything happen to my son! Ebonyi State is your forefathers’ home; nothing will happen to you. Since 12 p.m., they are just now agreeing to treat you.”

“The whole of Ebonyi State does not have a tracheostomy tube to remove groundnut, and the scan results show nothing.”

He also shared another video where he was being manhandled by policemen at the hospital while his wife was crying in anguish for the police to leave her husband for them to focus on their dying son.

“Our son is dying and you people are doing this?” the woman can be heard shouting in the video that has since gone viral.

Shortly afterwards, the son breathed his last.

Achiomeh has vowed to get to the root of his son’s death.

He wrote: “I need an autopsy to determine the cause of death. I wasn’t there because I was arrested. Before the oxygen, my son was fine aside from the breathing difficulty. Even when he was releasing foamy saliva, none of the doctors made a move.”

The aggrieved father expressed regret for his decision to relocate his family to Ebonyi:

“I came back home to Ebonyi with my family, hoping for a fresh start, but today, I regret my decision.”

Surprisingly, rather that get the sympathy of X users, there has been a groundswell of hostile comments for Achiomeh apparently because of his name on X and his past tweets deemed to be in support of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Some of the trolls referenced an old tweet where he criticised those who took part in the EndBadGovernance protest.

The tweet dated 28 July, 2023 says: “Lol, una jus get joy in exposing vulnerable youths to untimely death in form of protest and later turn around to blame the police or government. Learn how to follow matters diplomatically, u no wise pass everyone”

Some callously told him he was responsible for his son’s death by supporting bad governance.

Politics is still a game but I wonder who exposed your kid now besides you! Foolish father.”

Dearest Jessica, tweeting with @TrulyDearest_ wrote: “Bad governance killed your son. Autopsy will show the groundnut that blocked his throat. Many children and adults are dying because government is using money meant to provide medical facilities in our hospitals for themselves and people like you are supporting and hailing them. May the innocent boy rest in peace.”
