‘Nigerian Aunty’ trends after silencing crying child on London bus (Video)

A hilarious video has taken the internet by storm, capturing the moment a no-nonsense woman—dubbed “Nigerian Aunty” by fans—effortlessly shut down a screaming child’s tantrum on a London bus.

In the viral TikTok clip, which has amassed over 20 million views in just two days, the woman, believed to be in her 50s or 60s, turns to the wailing child and sternly warns, “Don’t give me unnecessary headache!” before delivering a cryptic yet chilling threat: “Unless I will get you inside my nose for two minutes!”

The child, who had been howling at full volume, immediately stopped in his tracks, looking bewildered at his mother—who, notably, did not intervene.

Social media users have since crowned the woman a hero, with many praising her for bringing peace to the bus. Some even joked that her services should be enlisted to discipline Gen Z kids.

One viewer applauded, “Aunty made him quiet real quick.” Another chimed in, “African aunties are necessary for this generation!”

While most celebrated her old-school discipline, a few critics argued that scolding other people’s children was inappropriate.

Regardless, the internet seems to agree on one thing—Nigerian Aunty doesn’t play!

A TikTok user, @nevergaveaviaf*k posted the video with the caption ‘periodt aunty’.
