A mobile money shop operator and her businessman lover have become a global sensation after their quick romp in a short-let apartment ended in a catastrophic disaster in Kisii Town, Kenya.
The Mpesa lady, married to another man, was alleged to be having an affair with a side dude who runs a car hire service near her shop.
They reportedly met at an AirBnB apartment in Kisii Town, an urban centre in south-western Kenya and the capital city of Kisii County on Thursday, March 13, 2025, when disaster struck.
The man reportedly found that he could not disengage when he was done. The sweating couple reportedly struggled for more than 2 hours before casting shame aside and crying out for assistance.
The staff of the apartment reportedly called other community residents when they could not separate them.
Security officials were later summoned to evacuate them in their official open back van to a hospital.
A video of the incident shows the moment the couple was transported with the bed duvet by about 10 hefty men. The couple can be heard squealing in pain with every movement of the men moving them.
Dozens of residents looked on and filmed the spectacle. Some commercial motorcycle operators followed the van as it sped towards the hospital.
Accusing fingers are being pointed at the woman’s husband for the couple’s predicament. He was believed to have placed a charm on the wife after suspecting her of infidelity.
Unconfirmed reports indicated that the husband was contacted by residents and he demanded Ksh2 million before he could set them free. But the residents reportedly opted to call the police instead to evacuate the victims to the hospital.
Medical experts associate such incidents with ‘pen*s captivus’ and the occurrence is rare. It is treated with muscle relaxants.
