The Tony Okocha-led faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has called on Governor Siminalayi Fubara to either resign from office or face impeachment proceedings by the State House of Assembly.

Speaking at a press briefing in Port Harcourt on Monday, Okocha accused the governor of mismanaging the state and leading it into crisis.

He asserted that Fubara’s administration had violated governance principles, making his continuation in office untenable.

According to Okocha, the Supreme Court’s recent verdict had suggested that there was no functional government in Rivers State, citing multiple infractions by the governor.

He described these alleged infractions as impeachable offenses.

Furthermore, the APC faction leader insisted that Fubara had lost the legitimacy to summon Assembly members for any discussions regarding the state’s affairs.

With political tensions in Rivers State reaching new heights, all eyes are now on the governor’s next move as the threat of impeachment looms.
