A 27-year-old pastor South African pastor is grateful to be alive after he was bitten by a Black Mamba during a prayer session in Hazelmere – KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
The incident happened yesterday morning, Saturday, February 22, 2025 while the victim was conducting a prayer next to a river.
He said he saw a large black snake slither away after feeling a sharp pain in his left leg.
He immediately walked a few meters from the river and sought assistance from Security Officers who helped him to call the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Centre at approximately 06:41 requesting urgent medical assistance for the man.
RUSA Paramedics reportedly located the man behind the Hazelmere Dam wall in Hazelmere.
The team said the man displayed some symptoms of Neurotoxic poisoning and extensive swelling at the bite site.
He was treated symptomatically on-site and then rushed to a medical facility for urgent care.
