A Nigerian lady based in America has announced that she will be spending the next two years in an American prison after she was arrested in connection with the activities of an ex-boyfriend.
In a video she posted on social media, the lady known as Baddest Orobo said she was arrested when she was returning from a vacation and was taken straight to jail where she remained for 10 days.
She said she was accused of doing fraud with her ex-boyfriend whereas she had no idea what the man was into.
She said it did not help that she was black and a Nigerian. The said boyfriend is yet to be apprehended.
She said the police searched her home and devices and were not able to find anything incriminating.
Orobo claimed that she did not even enjoy the relationship because it was toxic and every member of her family warned her to stay away from the man but she thought she was in love.
The incident began in 2022 when she was arrested and placed under house arrest for one year, during which time she could only go to work and return home.
She said she was not allowed to even visit grocery stores to buy anything.
She has worn an ankle monitor for the last three years to ensure that she could not go more than one hour outside of her neighbourhood.
She was sentenced to two years in jail on December 5, 2024. She is also to refund $500,000.
She called on fellow women to learn from her mistakes and make better choices.
