Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, started the New Year on a sad note as he lost his mother on the first day of the year.
The talented goaltender lost his father in 2024, during the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification.
On January 1, 2025, he broke the news of the passing of his beloved mother on X (formerly Twitter).
He wrote: “Rip mom, worst year of my life already 😢💔”.
He did not disclose the circumstances leading to the loss of his mother.
Condolences have since been pouring in for him from prominent figures and supportive colleagues.
