A woman had to be hospitalised on Monday after a bus rammed into a building she was in in the Igando area of Lagos State.
The Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Damilola Oke-Osanyitolu, said the incident happened on Monday morning.
He blamed the accident on recklessness on the part of the driver, which caused him to swerve and crash into the building.
LASEMA’s statement read,
“Following distress calls received via the CRM on the 767/112 Emergency Toll-Free Lines at 0713hrs, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, activated the State’s Emergency Response Plans and Response Team from Igando.
“Upon arrival at 0721hrs, LASEMA Dolphin Response Team discovered an incident scene where a minibus, registration number LSD 474YA had experienced a lone accident at the aforementioned location. Preliminary investigations conducted at the scene revealed that the cause of the accident was as a result of recklessness on the part of the driver which led to the mini-bus swerving off the road and crashing into a building. No casualties were recorded as a result of the incident. An adult woman sustained minor injuries from the accident and was taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.”
